Hail, Tornadoes Kill 97 People In July in China

A total of 20.16 million people in 27 provinces, municipalities andautonomous regions become victims of the disaster and many houses collapsed, according to Chinese news agency, Xinhua,which monitored ANTARA on Monday.
Direct economic losses caused by the incident amounted to13.28 billion yuan (2.04 billion U.S. dollars) until 15:00 July 31,said a statement issued by the ministry.
Jiangsu Province, Hubei, Shaanxi, Shanxi Gansu is the hardesthit by natural disasters.
Among the 97 deaths, 60 people died from being struck bylightning. The number of deaths rose 26.7 percent in seven years,he said.
