Electoral Commission of Nigeria announced Goodluck Jonathan, as the winner of the election with the acquisition of a majority of votes in 36 states. Earlier, violence hadoccurred in 13 states protest the election results.

The opposition is angry arson and shootings. Riots occurred in 13 states. Nigerian RedCross noted, at least 276 people were injured and 15 thousand other people displaced bythe unrest.
