Gartner Research predicts that by 2015 the upcoming Apple tablet will still dominate the global market. Even newcomers who carry the Android OS or Research In Motion enliven the tablet market.

From the research done by Gartner, Apple Tablet mastered at least 47 percent in 2015. This number has decreased compared with a market share in 2010. Currently, Apple controls around 69 percent of the tablet market.

Meanwhile, Android-based tablets are expected to increase market share. In 2011, Gartner predicts the market share reached 20 percent of Android tablets. In 2015, the market share Android tablets will increase to around 39 percent.

Analysts said that Google's decision to open the Honeycomb, the first OS designed for tablets, to third parties not only trigger the fragmentation. The move was described to slow the decline in product prices, while inhibiting the growth of market share.

"The new license model developed by Google that begins with Honeycomb indeed will give flexibility to control the implementation of Google's (OS),''said Roberta Cozza, an analyst at Gartner. However, the policy is expected 'to forget' control over quality. This causes the price of the tablet will experience a slow decline compared to the decrease in selling prices smartphone.
